The UK Slip Resistance Group have released the latest version of their guidelines on the assessment of floor slip resistance, superceding the November 2005 issue. The guidelines offer an improved and expanded guide for use of the BS 7976 Pendulum promoting a greater accuracy of measurement. Whilst the core method remains essentially unchanged, there are differences in the set up, calibration and refacing of test sliders. The guidelines published by the UKSRG are widely considered 'industry best practice'.
The UK Slip Resistance Group (UKSRG) is a group of independent experts in their field with the common aim of promoting greater understanding of the causes and solutions of slipping accidents. The group comprises members from a wide range of industries including major flooring brands and the Health and Safety Laboratory amongst other leading laboratories and independent experts. Grip Potential Ltd are currently an associate member of the group. Further information can be found on the group's website.
